Culture Competence Learning Community Facilitator, Learning Collaborative Facilitator

Sheryl Weir, MPH is the former Manager of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Equity and Minority Health (OEMH). In that capacity, she directed efforts to improve health equity for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) in Michigan. Under her leadership, OEMH led efforts to improve available data, raise awareness, build community capacity, and initiate program and policy efforts to eliminate health inequities among Michigan BIPOC populations. Her public health work includes the areas of health equity, health disparities and social justice. Weir currently works with the Community Mental Health Association of MI and the Disability Rights Michigan on cultural competence and diversity, equity and inclusion related initiatives.
