Claire Miller

Claire Miller is a Program Without Walls Specialist at Family Residences & Essential Enterprises, Inc. (FREE). She has been a tireless LGBTQIA+ advocate on behalf of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD) and facilitates FREE To BE, an LGBTQIA advocacy group which has met regularly since 2010. The New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council provided FREE with funding to launch PrideAbility, the LGBTQIA+ ID/DD Advocacy Movement across New York State which included conducting statewide workshops in the five regions of the NYS Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD). Miller has provided educational opportunities and support to LGBTQIA+ advocates, allies, family and staff members which focus on using their voices to express and obtain information and resources necessary to make choices that lead to positive changes in their lives. Miller is a co-founder the Statewide PrideAbility group which currently meets monthly via Zoom.
